The band

LOUD SINCE 2017

Sun City Riot is a rock band born in Miami in late 2017.

Singer Raul Ramirez and lead guitarist Carlos Barrios had each spent more than a decade writing music and playing in bands before leaving Venezuela behind. After relocating to Miami, they found the missing half: bassist Ivan Andres and drummer Carlos Benitez, originally from Puerto Rico, a loud and aggressive rhythm section seasoned by major tours backing Grammy-winning artists and a long list of original projects.

The band produced their EP Imaginary themselves, and its title track was recorded by the legendary Bob St. John, whose credits include Duran Duran, Collective Soul, Extreme and Steven Tyler. The EP’s song “Number One” was added to more than 150 playlists by critics and music influencers worldwide, reaching listeners in 82 countries across the Americas and Europe.

The result is a high-energy live band built on catchy songs and in-your-face riffs, one that breaks the mold of what people think the Miami music scene sounds like.
